Wow, only 13 days ago, these two wonderful people tied the knot and I can’t tell you how honored I was to be the one to photograph it all!
Matt and I have been friends for nearly 13 years (wow, stating that makes me feel old
and I’ve never seen him as happy as when he is with Holly. I know that everyone around them can see the love that these two have for each other.
On the days leading up to their wedding we were all a bit nervous about the weather, but in true Angel form – Holly’s brother Michael, and a few other Angels above pulled through on our prayers and gave them the most beautiful day!
Many people have already seen some of these images on Facebook and some of you have asked, how we got Matt and Holly into a boat and photographed at night? You also want to know, how did we manage to keep them both dry? Well, I’ll fill you in on a secret…. we spent 5 hours on the Wednesday before their wedding setting up and photographing those shots. Matt wore a blindfold after entering the boat, while Holly’s parents helped hold her dress up and I sat in the boat to help get Holly into position. We then pushed them out into the water and worked our magic. Yes, magic (and some more prayers) are what was needed to keep these two dry, keep the lanterns lit, and Matt from seeing Holly in her dress before the wedding!
All those extra hours were totally worth it, because of the meaning behind this set. When Matt proposed to Holly, he went to his in-laws house, suited up, went out to the pond, lit some candles, put them on pond, and called Holly’s cell telling her she needed to come out to the pond right away. To her surprise, there was Matt, on one knee, asking for her hand. WOW! what a true romantic!
We love these two more than the images of their wedding day! Congrats Mr and Mrs Albers!
XOXO, Here to to endless happiness and lots of little head headed kids
